Tester Campaign Statement on Effort to Undermine Protections for Pre-existing Condition

October 23, 2018

Billings—Yesterday, Matt Rosendale admitted he was against current protections for folks with pre-existing conditions. This came on the same day as new guidance from Washington that could allow states to expand plan offerings that don’t include current pre-existing condition protections.

Please see the following statement from Chris Meagher, communications director for Montanans for Tester:

“Matt Rosendale finally admitted Monday what he’s been hinting at all along: that he has no plan and no real interest in looking out for folks with pre-existing conditions like asthma or high blood pressure. Matt Rosendale is only interested in taking his marching orders from Mitch McConnell, who last week put cutting Medicare and Social Security on the table as an option after the midterms.”
